About Us

I am Hannah, the human behind Columbia Basin English Cream Golden Retrievers. My love for Golden Retrievers began before I had my own children when I adopted my first American Golden, Lily. Lily immediately stole my heart and I quickly found her a playmate to grow up with, Larry. For seven years, these two were the best of friends. Lily had a litter of 12 puppies when she was younger and I thoroughly enjoyed delivering and helping her raise her pups. She was spayed and continues to live her best life on our 17 acres of property. Unfortunately, Larry's life was cut short by cancer. Our hearts were broken. 

 

In the meantime, I had two children of my own and our dogs have now helped in raising them! After we lost Larry, we decided to adopt our very first European Golden Retriever, Lucy. It was apparent rather quickly that Lucy was a one-of-a-kind dog. She was the best puppy and an even better adult. She is gentle with kids and an all-around amazing pet. Because of her ideal temperament, I decided it would be a great opportunity to breed her and have my kids experience raising puppies. This is how "Columbia Basin English Cream Golden Retrievers" came to fruition. 

 

Raising healthy, happy puppies is my number one priority. This is done by health testing my breeding females and ensuring any studs they meet follow the same standards. Our puppies spend the first 8 weeks of their lives playing daily with my two children, ages 8 and 10. They interact with their mom, our other two golden retrievers and our cats.
